Drain Cleaning
Routine drain cleaning is cheaper before a clog turns into a backup, so schedule it now instead of waiting for a fixture to stop draining altogether.
When this becomes an emergency
- Standing water in the shower that takes minutes longer to clear than it used to.
- A kitchen sink that drains fine, then slows again within days of being snaked.
- A faint sewage smell near a floor drain that wasn't there before.
What a pro does
Drain cleaning means more than running a snake down the nearest opening. The plumber checks which fixtures are affected and in what order, then picks a tool based on that pattern rather than habit. A cable auger breaks up a clog and pulls debris back out. Hydro-jetting instead blasts the inside of the pipe clean with pressurized water, which clears grease and scale that a cable just pushes past. A quick cable pass doesn't reset the whole line the way jetting does, and homes with recurring clogs usually need that deeper approach.
